The Rhepang Muaif region has many diverse flora and fauna, but people do not yet understand and are confused about how to protect and manage the environment for their future. with all these problems the community through Mr. Alex Waisimon as a traditional community leader found a solution to the problems they face, namely through WWF which as a forum that can protect their rights as the legal owner of customary forests in Rhepang Muaif, through WWF the community is given a socialization about the importance of managing their own forest and can stand alone. Another problem is that sometimes the people themselves do not share the same mind and mind in protecting and managing their forests. In this case WWF (World Wild Fund For Nature) as one of the INGOs that helps people in Rhepang Muaif through the program (Community Based Ecotourism) with this program WWF tries to share information on ways for communities to be able to independently utilize their forests for their own economies. Based on the researched data it can be said that WWF succeeded in helping the community to independently manage their own resources, as evidenced by the significant increase in tourists, WWF was also supported by the government through 7 BUMNs, as proof that the government also took an important role in protecting endangered species and customary forest. |
