Abstract

This study aims to determine how big the proportion of demand for health services, the elasticity of demand for health services and the motivation of meat traders in using health services in Salatiga City. This research uses descriptive statistical analysis techniques. From the research that has been done, it is found that the proportion of health expenditure of respondents who follow the health service in Pasar Raya on the second floor of Salatiga and its vicinity is 5.31% lower than the proportion of health expenditure of respondents who do not use health services (11.81%). Then, the elasticity of demand, whether respondents using health services or not, is inelastic. Then, the elasticity of demand, whether respondents using health services or not, is inelastic. Finally, this research found that the motivation of meat traders to use health services is to keep watch when they are sick. Therefore, the policy should be applied by the government, namely the government needs to maintain the availability of health services as well as provide the relief of health service costs for meat traders in Pasar Raya on the second floor of Salatiga and surrounding areas.
