This thesis as a whole discusses the role of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) as one of the international organizations in Bangladesh in dealing with environmental problems of Used Acid Lead Battery (ULAB). Soil contamination, even spreading to have a serious impact on public health is a reflection of the environmental crisis experienced by the people of Bangladesh. Weak oversight and laws from the Bangladeshi government have made this crisis even more complicated. Therefore, UNEP as an international organization that pays attention to the welfare of the environment and society is trying to make changes by creating a strategic design of the National Strategy for Used Lead Acid Battery (ULAB) Recycling in Bangladesh to assist the government in handling ULAB cases in Bangladesh. The role of UNEP in this research is analyzed using international organization theory with qualitative research methods which explain the problem descriptively. The results obtained from this theory are, program designs that can assist UNEP handling can be overcome through Used Acid Lead Batteries (ULAB) in Bangladesh. Then, this design program can be expected to be applied in handling ULAB pollution. Thus, this study seeks to explain UNEP's involvement in the lead acid battery (ULAB) contamination case in Bangladesh.
