The Paradigm shift that occurs in the science of human resource management generates a new role in MSDM. HR department is not the time to just handle the administration of personnel and become a management policy perpetrator, but HR is required to have 4 roles, namely the role of strategic partner, the agent of change, administrative expert, and support officers to develop the competitive advantage (Employee champion). The issue raised in this study is how the transformation ofthe HR Department's role in the company in Indonesia and what competencies are needed by a current HR practitioner. This research is an exploratory study with a qualitative descriptive approach. The research was conducted on 3 prominent companies in Central Java. Data collection techniques use interview indepth and triangulation of 15 resources from 3 companies studied. The results show that all three companies have run four new roles in human resource management, although not in full. For example, in terms of strategic partner, HR still has a Tendency to follow the top management 's direction. For the competencies required HR practitioners are currently found almost like the direction ofsome existing literature. Competence is needed in the direction ofthe changes in the role ofMSDM that is as a strategic and technology oriented. |
