Abstract: The purpose of the research was to analyze how the similes and metaphors in Animal Farm were translated into Bahasa Indonesia in Binatangisme. The objectives of the research are (1) to find the categories of figurative language in animal farming that focus on simile and metaphor; (2) To identify the translation strategy that employs translators to translate figurative languages into Indonesian.The researcher used the theory of translation strategy proposed by Larson The researcher used descriptive qualitative. As a result of searching data, the researcher found seven similes and four metaphors. In addition, the researcher found the strategy which is the simile may be kept the meaning explained (that is, the topic and or point of similarity may be added) (2), translated simile keeping the image of similar meaning (3), and a simile of the receptor language that has the same meaning may be substituted (2). For the metaphor use the strategy which is metaphor translated as a simile (1), the metaphor may be kept if the receptor's language permits (2), and the meaning of the metaphor may be translated without keeping metaphorical imagery (1).
