Adversity Quotient dan Kecemasan dalam Menghadapi Dunia Kerja pada Mahasiswa Tingkat Akhir

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara adversity quotient dan kecemasan menghadapi dunia kerja pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir dari berbagai perguruan tinggi di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelaisonal dengan populasi mahasiswa dan mahasiswi tingkat akhir dari berbagai perguruan tinggi di Indonesia. Dalam penelitian ini teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah nonprobability yaitu dengan jenis accidental sampling. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berjumlah 170 mahasiswa. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan skala Adversity Quotient yang berjumlah 15 aitem dengan reliabilitas r = 0,727 dan skala kecemasan menghadapi dunia kerja berjumlah 31 aitem dengan reliabilitas r = 0, 919. Hasil uji hipotesis terdapat hubungan negatif signifikan antara Adversity Quotient dengna kecemasan menghadapi dunia kerja pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik korelasi product moment dan diperoleh rxy = -0,713 dengan taraf signifikansi = 0,000 (p>0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis pada penelitian ini diterima dimana terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara Adversity Quotient dan kecemasan dalam menghadapi dunia kerja. Artinya, semakin tinggi Adversity Quotient maka semakin rendah kecemasan dalam menghadapi dunia kerja, sebaliknya semakin rendah Adversity Quotient maka semakin tinggi kecemasan dalam menghadapi dunia kerja. Sumbangan efektif yang diberikan Adversity Quotient sebesar 50,8% terhadap kecemasan menghadapi dunia kerja.

This research aims to determine the relationship between the adversity quotient and the anxiety of final year students in dealing with the world of work at various universities in Indonesia. This research was conducted using a correlational quantitative method by involving final year students from various universities in Indonesia. The samples in this research were taken by means of nonprobability techniques, specifically with the type of accidental sampling. The samples used were amounted to 170 students. This research utilized two measuring instruments, including a scale of adversity quotient, consisting of 15 items with reliability (r) = 0.727 and a scale of anxiety in dealing with the world of work, consisting of 31 items with reliability (r) = 0.919. The results of the hypothesis testing indicated a significant negative relationship between the Adversity Quotient and the anxiety of final year students in dealing with the world of work. The data were then analyzed by means of the product moment correlation technique. The results of the analysis showed the value of rxy = -0.713 with a significance level of = 0.000 (p>0.05). Therefore, the hypothesis was accepted, because a significant negative relationship between Adversity Quotient and anxiety in dealing with the world of work was identified in this research. Thus, it may be inferred that the higher adversity quotient level will be more likely to reduce the level of anxiety in dealing with the world of work. On the other hand, the lower level of adversity quotient will be more likely able to increase the level of anxiety in dealing with the world of work. Adversity Quotient was managed to provide an effective contribution of 50.8% to anxiety in dealing with the world of work.
