Abstract: Suatu kecenderungan untuk dekat dengan seorang idola yang mengarah kepada perilaku disfungsional disebut dengan celebrity worship. Dewasa awal terlibat aktif dalam celebrity worship, hal ini disebutkan dalam penelitian terdahulu bahwa 75% individu pada usia dewasa awal memiliki ketertarikan yang kuat terhadap celebrity dalam kehidupan individu tersebut. Selain itu, penggemar juga dianggap terlalu ekstrem dalam menunjukkan rasa cinta kepada idolanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran celebrity worship pada dewasa awal penggemar musik K-pop. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara, dan observasi terhadap dua penggemar K-Pop. Seluruh responden berjenis kelamin perempuan dan berusia antara 21-25 tahun yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gambaran celebrity worship berkaitan dengan reaksi emosi penggemar terhadap idolanya dimana subjek turut merasakan emosi yang dirasakan oleh idolanya, terkait pula dengan proses berpikir tentang idola yang mereka pahami, pikirkan, khayalkan, juga pendapat mereka mengenai idola mereka, serta perilaku sebagai penggemar yang terkait dengan hubungan parasosial dimana subjek rela menghabiskan uang untuk membeli barang-barang terkait idolanya, membuka foto idolanya ketika bosan di kelas, serta kecenderungan untuk selalu dekat dengan idolanya.
A tendency to be close to an idol that leads to dysfunctional behavior is called celebrity worship. Early adults are actively involved in celebrity worship, it is mentioned in previous research that 75% of individuals in early adulthood have a strong interest in celebrity in the individual's life. In addition, fans are also considered too extreme in showing love to their idols. This study aims to determine the description of celebrity worship in early adult K-pop music fans. The research method used in this study is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data collection was carried out by interviewing techniques, and observing two K-Pop fans. All respondents are female and aged between 21-25 years who were selected by purposive sampling technique. The results show that the image of celebrity worship is related to the emotional reactions of fans to their idols where the subject also feels the emotional success felt by their idols, is also related to the process of thinking about idols that they understand, think about, imagine, as well as their opinions about their idols, and behavior as fans who are associated with parasocial relationships where the subject is willing to spend money to buy goods related to they idol, open photos of they idol when bored in class, and the tendency to always be close to they idol.
