Abstract: Kacang babi (Vicia faba L.) merupakan tumbuhan tahunan yang berasal dari daerah tropis. Tanaman ini tidak tahan kekeringan dan juga tidak tahan terhadap air yang berlebihan. Di daerah tropis greenhouse berfungsi sebagai pelindung tanaman terhadap curah hujan dan sinar matahari yang berlebihan. Selain itu greenhouse juga mempunyai fungsi tambahan seperti menghindari terpaan air hujan yang dapat merusak tanaman, sehingga bisa dicoba untuk diterapkan dalam penanaman kacang babi ini. Penelitian dilaksanakan April hingga Juli 2022 di Kebun Percobaan Salaran Fakultas Pertanian dan Bisnis Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana Salatiga Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakter morfologi dan agronomi kacang babi lokal dieng apabila ditanam pada dataran menengah dengan ketinggian 900 mdpl dengan suhu 18-30o C. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 6 perlakuan, yaitu P1 (1 tanaman/ polybag dalam greenhouse), P2 (2 tanaman/ polybag dalam greenhouse), P3 (3 tanaman/ polybag dalam greenhouse), P4 (1 tanaman/ polybag luar greenhouse), P5 (2 tanaman/ polybag luar greenhouse), P6 (3 tanaman/ polybag luar greenhouse). Analisis data menggunakan uji Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) dan uji lanjut Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) dengan selang kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian perlakuan P1 menunjukan hasil yang paling tinggi, meliputi tinggi tanaman 116,6 cm, SPAD 42,08 dengan warna daun hijau tua, jumlah bunga, dan berat polong 12,39 gram
Faba bean (Vicia faba L.) is an annual plant originating from the tropics. This plant is not drought tolerant and also not resistant to excessive water. In addition, the greenhouse also has additional functions such as avoiding rainwater exposure that can damage plants. In tropical areas, greenhouses function as plant protectors against excessive rainfall and sunlight, so that it can be tried to be applied in planting this faba bean. This study aims to determine the morphological and agronomic characters of local Dieng faba bean when planted in the middle plains with an altitude of 900 meters above sea level with a temperature of 18-30o C. The study was conducted from April to July 2022 at the Salaran Experimental Garden, Faculty of Agriculture and Business, Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana Salatiga. The study used a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 6 treatments, namely P1 (1 plant/polybag in the greenhouse), P2 (2 plants/polybag in the greenhouse), P3 (3 plants/polybag in the greenhouse), P4 (1 plant/polybag outside the greenhouse), P5 (2 plants/polybag outside the greenhouse), P6 (3 plants/polybag outside the greenhouse). Data analysis used the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test and then continued was analyzed by Tukey's Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) with a 95% confidence interval. The results of the P1 treatment showed the highest results, including plant height 116.6 cm, SPAD 42.08 with dark green leaf color, number of flowers, and pod weight 12.39 grams
