Abstract: | Ketersediaan informasi mengenai budidaya tanaman rempah masih terbatas, sehingga diperlukan kajian untuk mendukung pengembangan komoditas rempah utama. The availability of information regarding the cultivation of spice plants is still limited, so studies are needed to support the development of main spice commodities. The purpose of this study was to determine the main spice commodities and the land suitability class for the main spice commodities. This research was conducted in Cukilan Village, Suruh District, Semarang Regency in June-August 2022. The analytical methods used are Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share Analysis (SSA), overlay and matching between land characteristics parameters with land suitability criteria through software ArcGis version 10.4. The results obtained two leading commodities, namely cardamom with an LQ of 1.99 and ginger with an LQ of 1.06. Cardamom land suitability class is S2 (fairly suitable) with a land area of 665 ha (94.7%) and S3 (marginally appropriate) 37 ha (5.3%). Ginger's land suitability class is S2 (fairly suitable) with a land area of 620 ha (88.2%) and S3 (marginally appropriate) 82 ha (11.8%). The limiting factors for land use for cardamom and ginger are water availability, drainage, nutrient retention, namely base saturation, and erosion hazard in the form of slopes and salinity only in ginger. |
