Abstract: | In the era of globalization, to face tough competition, companies must be able to maintain their human resources. But the distinct personalities of each individual that exist in very diverse organizations. Personality which is a strong predictor of individual behavior in an organization. This study analyzes the effect of proactive personality on career success with work engagement as a mediating variable, conducted at generation z who have worked in private companies in Salatiga and its surroundings. The research aims to examine: (1) the effect of proactive personality on career success; (2) the effect of proactive personality on career success with work engagement as a mediating variable. This study uses a quantitative approach with causal associative methods, with a research sample of 80 generation z respondents. The population in this study were generation z employee who have worked in private companies in Salatiga and its surroundings. Type of sampling using non probability sampling with the type of purposive sampling. The data collection method used is the primary data collection method by distributing questionnaires with a Likert scale. The data analysis technique used is pretest analysis. The results of this study indicate that proactive personality has a positive effect on career success, work engagement able to indirectly mediate the effect of proactive personality on student work readiness. Di era globalisasi saat ini untuk menghadapi persaingan ketat perusahaan harus dapat mempertahankan sumber daya manusia yang dimilikinya. Tetapi kepribadian yang berbeda-beda dari setiap individu yang ada dalam organisasi sangat beragam. Kepribadian merupakan prediktor kuat perilaku individu dalam suatu organisasi. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh proactive personality terhadap career success dengan work engagement menjadi variabel mediasi, yang dilakukan pada generasi z yang telah bekerja di perusahaan swasta salatiga dan sekitarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji : (1) Untuk menganalisis adanya pengaruh proactive personality terhadap career success, (2) Untuk menganalisis pengaruh dari proactive personality terhadap career success dengan variabel mediasi yaitu work engagement. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan sampel penelitian yaitu 80 responden generasi z. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah karyawan generasi z yang bekerja di perusahaan swasta salatiga dan sekitarnya. Jenis pengambilan sampel menggunakan non probability sampling dengan jenis purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode pengumpulan data primer dengan menyebarkan kuesioner dengan skala Likert. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah pretest. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan proactive personality berpengaruh positif terhadap career success, work engagement mampu memediasi pengaruh proactive personality terhadap career success secara tidak langsung. |
