Abstract

This thesis covers a study about institutional governance in music product distribution. The study of distribution system is intended to provide complementary studies generally focusing on the analysis of artists as producers, art works as products, and consumers' appreciation to art works. It is expected that this study will provide comprehensive description about production-distribution consumption system. The study was conducted in the Pusat Kebudayaan Belanda Erasmus Huis having its secretariat in Jakarta as the agent of musical performance. Within the context of cultural social analysis, this study employed qualitative method. Data was collected by literary review, documentation, observation, and interview. Among those interviews were Erasmus Huis and recipient institutions in Bandung, Yogyakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya.
