Abstract: | This research aimed to describe the role of women in the waste bank and their contribution to reducing the waste problem in Mangunsari, Salatiga. Indonesia is the world's second-largest producer of plastic waste. With the presence of a waste bank in the environment, it can be beneficial for humans and the environment that people can be aware of the waste issue in Indonesia. The question attempted to find out the answers to the research problem is What is the role of women in the waste bank? The data was collected by documenting, observing, and interviewing women at the "KUSADARI" waste bank in Mangunsari and other waste banks in Mangunsari. Narrative analysis used to analyze from various sources. The thought used in this research is Gaard and Gruen’s (2005), ecofeminism which aims to analyze and practice the connections between women and nature. This research is expected to bring up the less-voiced stories about women’s perspectives on waste issues and their role to contribute to reducing the waste problem in the waste banks. Also, this research is used to share awareness of the never-ending waste problem in Indonesia and inspire other people. |
