In reality, being a vocational school student is not easy, they have to balance between academic and vocational studies, as well as student council activities. Functionaries often miss class hours and lack of sleep because they are doing their second task. Problems that functionaries have cause them to be less able to improve their academic resilience. To be able to increase academic resilience, self-esteem is needed, to be able to persist in carrying out their activities at school despite difficulties. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and academic resilience in student council functionaries at a vocational school in Salatiga. The method used is quantitative with a correlational design. A total of 143 student council members from 6 vocational schools in Salatiga were used as research participants using the quota sampling technique. Research measurements used the Self-Esteem Inventory (α = 0.897) and The Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-30) (α = 0.884). Methods of research data analysis using the product-moment correlation test from Karl Pearson. The study results show a significant positive relationship between self-esteem and academic resilience (r = 0.363 and sig. = 0.000). This shows that self-esteem is one of the factors associated with increasing the academic resilience of student council vocational school functionaries in Salatiga. This research implies that there is a need for follow-up from the school to provide problem-solving-based programs to increase the self-esteem of students involved in student council activities so that functionaries have good self-esteem regarding their duties and responsibilities and are able to bacchanals who continue to be resilient in activities. academic. Future research is expected to design intervention programs that facilitate the mental facilities of student council functionaries in carrying out their dual roles in schools.
