Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in the analysis of culture words translation found in the novel “The Dancer”, the English version of “Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk” by Ahmad Tohari. This research describes the differences found in Nitisari and Ditasari’s analysis results by employing a qualitative descriptive method. During the analysis, the researcher will apply both the Baker and Newmark translation theories. Other than that, the researcher also employs Newmark’s categorization of culture words. The researcher found several differences in how these theories are applied in the analysis of culture words translation. From there, this research may also notice a significant difference between the Newmark procedure and Baker strategy.
