Abstract: | Wilujengan Kuras Kalitaman is a cultural tradition that is still preserved in Kali Wedok, Salatiga. Kali Wedok itself is a river that until now is used by local residents for washing clothes, bathing, and even as a drainage for PDAM. The local residents have a high awareness of their natural potential so that the Kali Wedok is kept clean. They maintain it by cleaning the river regularly. Apart from preserving nature, they also maintain cultural traditions from their ancestors, namely Wilujengan Kuras Kalitaman. This cultural tradition is carried out regularly once a year every Shura month. This research was condected determine the interconnetion beetwen nature and culture in Kali Wedok Salatiga which will then be used as basis of making a shorth story entitled “Djiwo”. In writing the reseach entitled “DJIWO: Interconnection Between Nature and Culture in Kali Wedok, Salatiga Seen Through Ecocriticism Theory”, author use qualitative methods through observation and interviews. The author condected participatory observation to record the activities of the surrounding community related to the nature of Kali Wedok and interviews by asking several spontaneous question to the community about how to use Kali Wedok and effort to keep the river clean. |
