Abstract: This undergraduate thesis studied about the analysis of idiomatic expressions found in John Greens’ The Fault in Our Star. The idioms form can be phrasal verbs and several idioms with figurative meanings. The aim of this study is to identify the type of strategy used in describing idioms for translated books. The data were taken from the English version of The Fault in Our Star. For analyzing the data, the researcher used qualitative method. Mona Baker’s theory was used for analyzing the types of idiomatic expressions that were found in the book. As the result of analyzing, there are four types of strategies used in describing idioms from the English version of The Fault in Our Star. The strategies of idiomatic expression were used based on the words written in the English version of The Fault in Our Star book.
