Abstract: Slangs are common to be found in many types of media, yet their meaning changes with the times. This study analyzes the slang found in the original text “ the adventures of huckleberry finn” by mark twain and its translated version “petualangan huckleberry finn” by Djokolelono. The data were collected from the original text and its translated version. Based on this research, there are 20 data slang in the original text and its translated version. To analyze the slang translation, the researcher uses translation procedures by Newmark. The Translation Procedures used are Descriptive Equivalent, Cultural Equivalent, Couplet, Shift, Synonimy, Functional Equivalent, Modulation, Expansion, and Reduction. The result is that most slang is translated properly, even though there were a few instances of slang being translated and understood poorly.
