Abstract: | Mahasiswa merupakan seorang yang terpelajar yang memiliki pengetahuan yang lebih tinggi ketimbang pelajar SMP maupun SMA. Seorang mahasiswa mempunyai tugas dan tanggung jawab untuk belajar agar didalam masyarakat dapat membantu menemukan solusi atas permasalahan social. Namun di dalam tugas tersebut terdapat beberapa mahasiswa yang melenceng dari tugas dan tanggungjawab tersebut dan malah melakukan penyimpangan social bermain judi. Alasan yang membuat mereka bermain judi ialah tergiur dengan iming-iming hadiah besar. Berdasarkan penjelasan diatas, penelitian ini sangat menarik untuk dikaji karena yang menjadi objek penelitian adalah mahasiswa yang melakukan judi online dan berada di rumah kost cemara 2. Sehingga dapat diketahui bahwa bagaimana dampak judi online bagi mahasiswa di rumah kost cemara 2. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwasanya asal muasal mereka ketagihan bermain judi online adalah dengan melihat teman kost bermain judi online sering mendapatkan keuntungan yang besar. Namun dibalik itu terdapat dampak di dalamnya diantaranya dampak ekonomi, dampak perkuliahan dan dampak kesehatan. Jika dikaji dengan teori interaksi social dari Gilin and gilin, interaksi social antara teman satu kost di cemara 2 ini sangat kuat terbukti ketika nongkrong terdapat satu orang bermain judi sekitarannya tertarik untuk ikut. Dalam interaksi terdapat faktor didalamnya yakni faktor imitasi, sugesti dan simpati.
Kata Kunci: mahasiswa, judi online, interaksi sosial, jurnal ilmiah kajian sosial, template artikel A student is an educated person who has higher knowledge than middle school or high school students. A student has the duty and responsibility to study so that in society he can help find solutions to social problems. However, in this fulfilling its responsibility there were several students who deviated from these duties and responsibilities and instead committed social deviations in gambling. The reason that makes them gamble is that they are tempted by the promise of big prizes. Based on the explanation above, this occurrence is then significant to study because the object of the research is students who gamble online and are in boarding house Cemara 2. So it can be seen what the impact of online gambling is for students in boarding house Cemara 2 This research uses research methods qualitative. The research results found that the origin of their addiction to playing online gambling was seeing their boarding house friends playing online gambling and often making big profits. However, this phenomenon has caused various impac including economic impacts, educational impacts and health impacts. If we study it using the social interaction theory of Gilin and Gilin, the social interaction between boarding house friends in Cemara 2 is very strong, as evidenced by the fact that when they hang out there are people playing gambling around them who are interested in joining in. In interaction there are factors in it, namely the factors of imitation, suggestion and sympathy.
