Abstract: This study is to examine the effect of related party transactions on audit fees and suspects the effect of related party transactions tunneling on audit fees is greater than related party transactions propping. The research sample used 83 companies that are members of the financial industry listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018-2019 with 253 total observations. The audit fees are measured using the natural logarithm of the audit fee which is disclosed in the annual report. Related party transactions are tunneling measured by the proportion of asset and expense related party transactions. Propping is measured by the proportion of liability and revenue related party transactions. The hypothese was tested using the Panel Data Regression analysis model. This study found that related party transactions by the financial industry do not affect audit fees. Related party transactions both tunneling and propping have no different effect on audit fees. This suggests that both tunneling and propping related party transactions are likely to create agency problems for the financial industry.
