Abstract: Sonatina is a form of music that has evolved since the Baroque era to the present with sli ghtly diff erent function in every period. Especially in the 20th century, the use of the title Sonatina is not simply a matter of form alone, but it relates also to many other aspects, for instance the influence of cultural transformation. This is in line with the increasing complexity of the flow I ism music since 1900- 1950 that led to the attitude and individual style of each composer. Sonatina Op. 15 for flute and guitar was composed in 1950. This is one of the six works titled Sonatina written by by John William Duarte, out of more than 200 musical works. This Sonatina is a single movement pattern, in addition the element styles of jazz idiom occurs.
