Learning in the world of education today is influenced by student development in terms of knowledge, understanding, thinking processes and student activity. Mastery of classroom conditions is also one of the supporting factors for successful student development by implementing appropriate and effective learning models. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the model Problem Based Learning and Contextual Teaching and Learning on students' creative thinking abilities in social studies subject matter for grade IV elementary school. The type of research used is as if experimental with research designnon equivalent control group design. The sampling technique uses probability sampling that iscluster sampling (Sampling Area). The sample for this research was fourth grade students at SD Negeri Ujung-Ujung 01 and SD Negeri Ujung-Ujung 03. The data collection instruments used were observation sheets and tests. Data analysis techniques consist of prerequisite tests, average tests/T-tests and hypothesis tests. Based on the research results, through descriptive results, the creative thinking ability of experimental class 1 averaged 54.5, median 50, minimum score 25 and maximum score 81. Meanwhile for experimental group 2, the average was 67.25, median 74, minimum score 48 and the maximum score is 83. So it can be concluded that the learning models Contextual Teaching and Learning more effective than learning models Problem Based Learning.
