Abstract: Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) dalam IoT memungkinkan pengumpulan data dari lingkungan sekitar, namun menghadapi tantangan jarak, jumlah node, dan daya baterai terbatas. Penelitian ini menganalisis WSN dengan protokol Multi Hop dan Single Hop melalui simulasi. Metode penelitian melibatkan studi literatur, perancangan model jaringan, dan analisis performa. Hasilnya menunjukkan Protokol Multi Hop (AODV) dengan throughput tinggi pada jumlah node 30 (269,38 kbps) untuk pengiriman data cepat, sedangkan Protokol Single Hop (Cluster Head) lebih baik dalam pengiriman paket dan efisiensi energi berkat pengelompokan. Pemilihan protokol harus disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan aplikasi dan lingkungan. Temuan ini membantu pengguna WSN merancang jaringan dengan lebih baik sesuai kebutuhan aplikasi dan lingkungan.
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) in the Internet of Things (IoT) enable data collection from the surrounding environment, but face challenges of distance, number of nodes, and limited battery power. This research analyzes WSNs with Multi-Hop and Single-Hop protocols through simulation. The research methods involved a literature study, network model design, and performance analysis. The results show that the Multi-Hop Protocol (AODV) has high throughput at a node count of 30 (269.38 kbps) for fast data delivery, while the Single-Hop Protocol (Cluster Head) is better at packet delivery and energy efficiency thanks to clustering. Protocol selection should be tailored to the needs of the application and environment. The findings help WSN users design networks better to meet the needs of applications and environments.
