Contesting Patriarchal in A Family Through Feminism by A Daughter for A Freedom

Abstract

Indonesia is recognized as a significant nation in Southeast Asia, renowned for its expansive landmass. However, regrettably, Indonesia lags far behind other global nations in the realm of education. Specifically, Indonesia's education ranks 67th out of 209 countries worldwide, indicating a notably low quality of education in the country. Even thought currently in the modern era, but the level of education in Sale, Rembang, Central Java, which can be said to be still quite low. There are still many views about women who are better at home and do not need to go anywhere and only take care of the house. Education is not only about knowledge, but also about the habits of the society itself. This study discusses a view of Indonesian society in an area that is still carried away by the stereotype that a girl does not need higher education. This research shows data obtained from unstructured interviews, library research such as journals, articles, books. The data collected is used as an output in this research in the form of a Short Story. The Short Story in this research outlines how a village girl struggles to get an education in a society that lacks education.
