Abstract: This study aims to investigate teachers' awareness of teaching strategies, whether the teachers are aware of teaching strategies and actively use teaching strategies in improving students' speaking skills or not. The method of the study was a qualitative study. The participants were two English teachers in SMA Kristen 1 Salatiga, and the research instruments were observation and interview. The teaching strategies used by the teachers are dialogue practice, games, and three strategies for teaching in Kurikulum Merdeka (auditory, kinetic and audio-visual). Furthermore, both participants had the same perspective in using teaching strategies to help the students improve their speaking skills.
