Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self-esteem dan impulsive buying pada mahasiswa rantau asal Sulawesi Utara di Salatiga. Subjek di dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 62 orang mahasiswa asal Sulawesi Utara. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengukur self-esteem menggunakan skala yang diadaptasi dari alat ukur self-esteem karya Rosenberg (1965), yaitu Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) dan untuk mengukur impulsive buying menggunakan skala yang disusun oleh Verplanken dan Herabadi (2001), yaitu Impulsive Buying Tendency Scale (IBTS). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan hubungan positif yang signifikan antara self-esteem dan impulsive buying pada mahasiswa rantau asal Sulawesi Utara di Salatiga dengan r = 0,143 dengan signifikansi sebesar 0,425 (p > 0,05) yang berarti bahwa hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini ditolak.
This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and impulsive buying of students from North Celebes in Salatiga. The subjects in this study consists of 62 students from North Celebes. The measuring tool used to measure the self-esteem is adapted from a scale by Rosenberg (1965), which is Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) and the measuring tool used to measure impulsive buying is adapted from a scale made by Verplanken and Herabadi (2011), which is Impulsive Buying Tendency Scale (IBTS). The results of this study indicate a significant positive relationship between self-esteem and impulsive buying on students from North Celebes in Salatiga with r = r = 0,143 and significance of 0,425 (p > 0,05) which means the hypothesis this research proposed is denied.
