Abstract: | Penelitian ini mengulas tentang Akta Gereja GPIB, khususnya tentang manusia LGBTIQ ditinjau berdasarkan perspektif Teologi Tubuh dan Pendekatan SOGIESC. This study discusses the GPIB Church Deed, particularly concerning LGBTIQ individuals, based on the perspectives of Body Theology and the SOGIESC Approach. The formulation of the GPIB Church Deed as a church document aims to respond to issues within church life, allowing the church to continue expressing salvation, peace, and other values of the Kingdom of God to every human being inside and outside the church. Specifically, this research seeks to explore and describe the foundational thoughts used in formulating the Church Deed regarding LGBTIQ individuals and to analyze the formulations and foundational thoughts within the GPIB Church Deed about LGBTIQ individuals based on the studies of Body Theology and the SOGIESC Approach. This research uses a qualitative research method with a literature review and data collection through interviews. The results show that the GPIB is already quite open to LGBTIQ individuals, not considering them as sinful and acknowledging that God creates them in His image and likeness. Although accepting LGBTIQ individuals, the GPIB imposes limitations by not conducting marriage blessings for them. This limitation is partly due to the basis of the GPIB Church Deed, which refers to the formulation of the Understanding of Faith, seemingly limiting bodies to only male and female, excluding intersex. Furthermore, the study of Body Theology and the SOGIESC Approach to the formulation of the GPIB Church Deed on LGBTIQ individuals finds inaccuracies, such as labelling transgender, intersex, and queer as sexual orientations, when these three are not components within the sexual orientation category. Similarly, the explanation of gender identity—queer and transgender—is not found in the formulation of the Church Deed or the Understanding of Faith of the GPIB. Additionally, the description of LGBTIQ individuals is limited to the understanding of sexual orientation, whereas LGBTIQ individuals encompass sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sex characteristics. |
