Title: Development of Flash Cards to Help Write Short Stories for 5th Grade Elementary Students

Abstract: Di SD Negeri Sidorejo Lor 03, siswa kesulitan menentukan tema & alur cerita serta menyusun kalimat ketika menulis cerita pendek. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penulis ingin menghadirkan sebuah inovasi untuk membantu siswa menulis cerpen dengan menggunakan media Flash Cards. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan seperti: 1) Mengetahui langkah-langkah penggunaan media Flash Cards untuk membantu menulis cerpen bagi siswa kelas 5 SD, 2) Mengetahui efektivitas media Flash Cards dalam membantu penulisan cerpen bagi siswa kelas 5 SD, 3) Mengetahui tingkat validitas media Flash Cards dalam materi cerpen untuk membantu penulisan cerpen bagi siswa kelas 5 SD, 4) Mengetahui kepraktisan media Flash Cards untuk membantu menulis cerpen bagi siswa kelas 5 SD.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (RnD) dari Sugiyono yang menggunakan 6 tahap, yaitu potensi dan permasalahan, pengumpulan informasi, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain, dan pengujian produk yang dikombinasikan dengan model ADDIE. Penilaian dari ahli media mendapat skor 95 dengan kriteria sangat layak dan dari ahli materi mendapat skor 74 dengan kriteria layak. Kepraktisan Flash Cards dari tanggapan siswa mendapat skor 80 dengan kriteria sangat layak. Efektivitasnya meningkat 12 poin selama Pre-Test 72 menjadi 84 selama Post-Test. Dapat disimpulkan dengan menggunakan Flash Cards dapat membantu siswa kelas 5 SD SD Negeri Sidorejo Lor 03 Salatiga untuk menulis cerpen. Media Flash Cards juga dianggap valid, praktis, dan efektif digunakan saat belajar menulis cerpen.
In SD Negeri Sidorejo Lor 03, the students have difficulty determining the theme & plots of the story and organizing sentences when writing short stories. Based on that, the author wants to present an innovation to help students write a short story using Flash Cards media. This research has objectives such as: 1) Knowing the steps to use Flash Cards media to help write short stories for 5th grade elementary school students, 2) Knowing the effectiveness of Flash Cards media in helping write short stories for 5th grade elementary school students, 3) Knowing the level of validity of Flash Cards media in short story material to help write short stories for 5th grade elementary school students, 4) Knowing the practicality of Flash Cards media to help write short stories for 5th grade elementary school students. This research uses the method of Research and Development (RnD) from Sugiyono used 6 stages, such as potential and problems, collecting information, product design, design validation, design revision, and product testing combined with the ADDIE model. The assessments from media experts got a score of 95 with criteria very worthy and from material expert got a score 74 with criteria worthy. The practicality of the Flash Cards from the students' responses got a score of 80 with criteria very worthy. The effectiveness increased 12 points during the Pre-Test 72 to 84 during the Post-Test. It can be concluded by using Flash Cards can help 5th grade elementary students at SD Negeri Sidorejo Lor 03 Salatiga to write short stories. Flash Cards media also considered valid, practical, and effective to use when learning to write short stories.
