The problem of stunting is still a priority because it can disrupt children's growth and development. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia in 2022 is 21.6% and Temanggung Regency ranks second highest in Central Java, reaching 28.9%. The majority of Indonesian people consume carbohydrate sources compared to protein. In fact, animal protein can increase the z-score value of a child's height and a lack of food diversity can put children at risk of stunting. This research aims to determine the relationship between individual food diversity, especially the description of animal food consumption in relation to the high rate of stunting in Temanggung. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional design. The research population was all toddlers aged 24-59 months in Temanggung Regency who were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Food diversity data was collected using the Individual Dietary Diversity Score questionnaire with the 1x24 hour food recall method and animal food consumption data using the Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire. The research results showed that 13 toddlers were classified as short and 3 toddlers were very short, and 29 toddlers had moderate food diversity. The most frequently consumed animal food is chicken eggs with an average frequency of 0.770 per day and an average weight per day of 44.940 grams. There is no significant relationship between individual food diversity and nutritional status using the height-for-age indicator. It is hoped that further research regarding individual food diversity with more sampling will improve the results of this research.
