Abstract: This study explores how religion and environment interact with Padusan tradition, a regional custom practiced in Senjoyo Springs in Tegalwaton, Central Java. Inherent in both regional knowledge and Islamic beliefs, Padusan involves taking cleansing baths to prepare oneself for Ramadan. The study focuses on the relationship between religion and nature in Padusan tradition as a media of environmental conservation seen from an eco-theology perspective. Using eco-theology as a framework highlights the importance of Padusan in preserving the environment. The study used qualitative approaches to gather information from the participants by using interviews and on-site observations. This study aims to increase public awareness of the value of regional customs in encouraging ecological responsibility and developing a closer relationship between religious beliefs and environmental preservation.
