Abstract: This study investigates the efficacy of utilizing English movie subtitles in English movies to enhance vocabulary acquisition among English language students. With English text-based subtitles appearing in English movies, this method offers a convenient and easy approach to expanding vocabulary skills. This present study uses a qualitative and quantitative method including a questionnaire and conducted semi-structured interviews. The participants of this study were 40 English language students at a private university in Salatiga batch 2021. From this study, the researcher found three categories that are: Students' feelings towards the use of English subtitles in English movies to enhance vocabulary acquisition, students positive perception towards the use of English subtitles in English movies to enhance vocabulary acquisition, and student behavior towards the use of English subtitles in English movies to enhance vocabulary acquisition. This study showed the benefit of using English subtitles in English movies as a tool for enhancing vocabulary acquisition according to the students’ perception.
