Kajian Pendampingan Pastoral terhadap Penggunaan Media Sosial Facebook oleh Remaja di Jemaat GMIH WOHIA

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji penggunaan media sosial facebook oleh remaja dari perspektif pendampingan pastoral. Penelitian ini dimotivasi oleh fakta bahwa media sosial facebook memberikan dampak yang berpengaruh pada kehidupan remaja GMIH WOHIA dalam menemukan jati diri. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan dekriptif, melalui teknik pengumpulan data wawancara dan observasi terhadap sumber informan yaitu pendeta, majelis, remaja yang berusia 12-15 tahun dan orang tua di jemaat GMIH WOHIA. Melalui proses penelitian yang didapati ada dampak positif dan negatif terhadap penggunaan media sosial facebook yang memengaruhi spiritualitas remaja GMIH WOHIA. Melihat pergumulan yang dihadapi remaja, gereja langsung tanggap akan dampak dari media sosial facebook. Upaya pendampingan pastoral yang dilakukan gereja kepada remaja melalui kegiatan gerejawi berupa khotbah tetapi lebih dari itu gereja harus bekerja sama dengan orang tua remaja untuk mewujudkan fungsi-fungsi pendampingan pastoral dengan membimbing, mendukung, menyembuhkan, memulihkan, dan memelihara. Penelitian ini direkomendasikan bagi gereja dalam memberikan fungsi pendampingan pastoral kepada remaja sebagai pengguna media sosial facebook secara utuh.

This study examines the use of facebook social media by adolescents from the perspective of pastoral assistance. This research is motivated by the fact that Facebook social media has an influential impact on the lives of GMIH WOHIA teenagers in finding their identity. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach, through interview data collection techniques and observations on informant sources, namely pastors, assemblies, adolescents aged 12-15 years and parents in the GMIH WOHIA congregation. Through the research process, it was found that there were positive and negative impacts on the use of Facebook social media that affected the spirituality of GMIH WOHIA teenagers. Seeing the struggles faced by teenagers, the church immediately responded to the impact of Facebook social media. Pastoral assistance efforts carried out by the church to adolescents through ecclesiastical activities in the form of sermons, but more than that, the church must cooperate with parents of adolescents to realize pastoral assistance functions by guiding, supporting, healing, restoring, and nurturing. This research is recommended for churches in providing pastoral assistance functions to adolescents as users of Facebook social media as a whole.
