Amid Bali's culinary richness, which is rich in its unique spices, there is a dish that is almost forgotten: food made from dragonfly larvae. This ancestral culinary heritage has deep roots in local culture. Dragonfly larvae, known as "Blauk" in Balinese, are a food ingredient usually found in watery areas such as rice fields. This culinary delight is not only interesting because of its taste, but also because of its nutritional value. Dragonfly larvae are rich in protein and other nutrients, providing a valuable food source in the past. Unfortunately, the tradition of eating dragonfly larvae in Bali faces serious threats. One of the main factors is environmental changes that impact dragonfly habitats. Infrastructure development and changes in agricultural practices have resulted in a reduction in the water area required for the dragonfly's life cycle. As a result, the population has decreased drastically, which has a direct impact on the availability of larvae. Apart from that, the lack of demand and knowledge regarding this food makes Blauk Basa Manis, or processed food produced from Balinese dragonfly larvae threatened with extinction in the next generation. After going through a public test, the results obtained, namely the video campaign "A Taste Of Bali's Heritage: Blauk Basa Manis" are suitable for publication to the public. This campaign video will be published on YouTube social media. |
