Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga instrumen: the Image of God Questionnaire (α = 0,977), Meaning in Life Questionnaire (α = 0,909), dan the Psychological Distress Scale (α = 0,932).
HIV/AIDS survivors commonly experience psychological challenges, including stigma and discrimination, leading to psychological distress. This research investigates how the image of God and meaning in life influence psychological distress in this population. The study aims to examine the combined effects of these variables and their individual impacts on psychological distress among HIV/AIDS survivors. Using a quantitative approach with multiple regression analysis, the study involved 136 HIV/AIDS survivors aged 21-45 who had been diagnosed for at least one year, selected through incidental sampling. The research utilized three instruments: the Image of God Questionnaire (α = 0.977), the Meaning in Life Questionnaire (α = 0.909), and the Psychological Distress Scale (α = 0.932). The findings revealed that the image of God and meaning in life collectively had a significant effect on psychological distress (F = 25.532, p =0.000). Individually, the image of God significantly influenced psychological distress (F = 5.9565, p = 0.000), while meaning in life showed no significant impact (F = -0.607, p = 0.545). These results suggest that psychological interventions for HIV/AIDS survivors should incorporate spiritual elements, particularly focusing on the concept of the image of God, to effectively reduce psychological distress in this population.
