Abstract: This paper presents the challenges presented by geometric transformation attacks to watermark synchronization. Geometric distortion attacks can prevent proper detection of the watermark by destroying the synchronization between the watermark and the watermark detector. This paper proposes two approaches to deal with this problem. The first approach removes strict spatial synchronization requirements of the watermark. while the second approach enables watermark re-synchronization after a geometric attack
