Abstract: Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan interaksi Kristen-Islam di Butuh Kidul berdasarkan Teori Dialog Antar Agama Harold Netland dan Paul Knitter.
This paper aims to describe Christian-Muslim interaction in Butuh Kidul based on Harold Netland and Paul Knitter's Interfaith Dialogue Theory. Both Netland's and Knitter's theories will help reveal the basic motives of Christians in interacting with Muslims. Then Knitter's theory also helps analyze categorizations that are in line with the understanding and attitudes of Christians in interacting with Muslims in Butuh Kidul. The analysis of these two theories will answer the research target of how far the harmony between the apparent reality of Christian-Muslim interaction with appreciation of the mission and dialogue and understanding of Christians in Butuh Kidul towards the reality of religious differences. The author uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. Through this research, it was found that Christians recognize the existence of goodness in the teachings of Islam. However, regarding truth and salvation, Christians believe that truth and salvation only exist in Christianity as well as faith in Jesus Christ, the only Lord and Savior. Christians continue to maintain the urgency of mission in the sense of proclaiming faith in Jesus Christ. As for dialog, it is seen as an effective means of preaching the gospel, so that people believe in Jesus, live according to the example of His teachings, including experiencing baptism, even though it remains without coercion. In the end, Christians in Butuh Kidul belong to the partial replacement model. However, Christians still have sincerity in interacting through life attitudes, traditions, social activities, as well as sincere dialogue, building harmony. Thus, between the reality of Christian interactions with Muslims and the appreciation of faith regarding the urgency of mission and dialogue, as well as the understanding of Christians in Butuh Kidul about the reality of religious differences, it can be said that they still have harmony, although not intact
