This study aims to analyze the trends, distribution of publications, types of research, and application of managerial functions in the theses of students in the Master of Education Administration (MAP) program during the 2020–2024 period. The study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) design with a descriptive quantitative approach. Data were collected from published thesis documents and analyzed based on year, journal type, research methods, and managerial aspects examined. The analysis results indicate fluctuating publication trends, with a sharp decline in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and an increase in 2023 following the recovery of educational conditions. Most publications were found in SINTA 2 and 3 journals, while publications in SINTA 1 journals were not found during the study period. Methodologically, R&D and evaluative approaches dominated, while methods such as SLR, Ethnography, and School Action Research were still rarely used. The analysis of managerial functions showed dominance in planning and controlling aspects, whereas organizing, directing, and coordinating functions remained minimal. These findings recommend the importance of regularly mapping trends and developing the research roadmap to be more structured and responsive. Additionally, expanding methodological approaches and managerial studies is needed so that students’ theses become more contextual, diverse, and contribute meaningfully to educational practice.
