Abstract: | Maraknya konsumsi media sosial yang terus meningkat, khususnya TikTok, telah menciptakan ruang diskusi baru mengenai institusi pernikahan. The increasing consumption of social media, especially TikTok, has created a new discussion space regarding the institution of marriage. Through the content “Marriage Is Scary” which is currently trending amidst social issues Using a quantitative approach through a survey of Gen Z who actively use TikTok, this study examines how content themed on fear of marriage shapes their perspective on long-term commitment, finances, and household life. This study uses quantitative research methods to process primary data collected from the results of filling out questionnaires or surveys and secondary data obtained from BPS. The results of the study show that intensive exposure to this content has a significant positive correlation with the formation of negative perceptions of marriage, such as concerns about household failure and loss of personal freedom. These findings demonstrate the importance of media literacy in responding to digital narratives, especially those related to social values. |
