Neuroticism Trait Personality, Perilaku Hidup Sehat, dan Kesepian Pada Remaja di Indonesia

Abstract

Sebanyak 15.5 juta (34.9%) remaja Indonesia bergulat dengan setidaknya satu isu kesehatan mental. Mengingat krusialnya periode remaja bagi lintasan perkembangan hidup, temuan ini menggarisbawahi urgensi untuk memahami akar permasalahan, di mana kesepian menjadi salah satu momok yang signifikan. Neuroticism trait personality dan perilaku hidup sehat diyakini memainkan peran penting. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh neuroticism trait personality dan perilaku hidup sehat terhadap kesepian pada remaja di Indonesia. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 606 remaja yang berusia 15-22 tahun dari berbagai daerah di Indonesia, diperoleh dengan teknik sampling insidental. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif regresi linier berganda. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari The Big Five Inventory (α=0,796), The Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile II (α=0,947), dan The de Jong-Gierveld Loneliness Scale (α=0,898). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hipotesis mayor dan hipotesis minor diterima. Terdapat pengaruh signifikan secara bersama-sama antara neuroticism trait personality dan perilaku hidup sehat terhadap kesepian (F= 99,8 dan sig.= 0,001). Neuroticism trait personality berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kesepian (t= 12,07 dan sig.= 0,001). Perilaku hidup sehat berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap kesepian (t= -3,86 dan sig.= 0,001). Penelitian ini mengimplikasikan perlunya intervensi pengelolaan neuroticism dan promosi perilaku hidup sehat yang komprehensif untuk mengurangi kesepian pada remaja. Approximately 15.5 million (34.9%) Indonesian adolescents are grappling with at least one mental health issue. Given the crucial period of adolescence as a trajectory of life development, this finding underscores the urgency to understand the root of the problem, where loneliness is one of the significant scourges. Neuroticism trait personality and healthy lifestyle behaviours are believed to play an important role. This study was conducted to determine the effect of neuroticism trait personality and healthy lifestyle behaviours on loneliness in adolescents in Indonesia. The sample of this study was 606 adolescents aged 15-22 years from various regions in Indonesia, obtained by incidental sampling technique. The research method used a quantitative multiple linear regression approach. The research instruments consisted of the Big Five Inventory (α=0,796), the Health- Promoting Lifestyle Profile II (α=0,947), and the de Jong-Gierveld Loneliness Scale (α=0,898). The results showed that the mayor hypothesis and minor hypothesis were accepted. There was a significant influence together between neuroticism trait personality and healthy lifestyle behaviours on equality (F= 99.8 and sig.= 0.001). Neuroticism trait personality has a significant positive effect on loneliness (t= 12.07 and sig.= 0.001). Healthy lifestyle behaviours has a significant negative effect on loneliness (t= -3.86 and sig.= 0.001). This study implies the need for comprehensive neuroticism management interventions and healthy lifestyle behaviours promotion to reduce loneliness in adolescents.
