Kajian Teologi Disabilitas terhadap Pelayanan kepada Teman Tuli di GKI Pondok Indah Jakarta

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji bentuk-bentuk pelayanan GKI Pondok Indah Jakarta terhadap komunitas Teman Tuli dalam perspektif teologi disabilitas. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif melalui studi pustaka, observasi, dan wawancara, ditemukan empat bentuk pelayanan utama: pelatihan bahasa isyarat bagi jemaat dan pelayan, penyediaan aksesibilitas visual dalam ibadah seperti teks liturgi dan lagu di layar proyektor, penyelenggaraan forum edukatif terkait isu disabilitas, serta pelibatan aktif Teman Tuli dalam pelayanan gerejawi. Pelayanan ini tidak hanya memenuhi kebutuhan komunikasi, tetapi juga membuka ruang partisipasi bermakna, menempatkan Teman Tuli sebagai mitra sejajar dalam kehidupan bergereja. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa praktik pelayanan di GKI Pondok Indah telah selaras dengan prinsip-prinsip teologi disabilitas yang menekankan penerimaan, kesetaraan, dan kasih Allah yang merangkul semua umat. Dengan demikian, gereja tampil sebagai ruang inklusif yang mendukung pertumbuhan iman bersama dalam semangat keadilan sosial dan kesetaraan.

This study explores the forms of ministry carried out by GKI Pondok Indah Jakarta toward the Deaf community (Teman Tuli) through the lens of disability theology. Using a qualitative-descriptive approach through literature review, direct observation, and semi-structured interviews, the research identifies four main forms of ministry: sign language training for congregants and church staff, the provision of visual accessibility in worship such as projected liturgical texts and songs, the organization of educational forums on disability issues, and the active involvement of Deaf individuals in church ministries. These services not only address communication needs but also create meaningful spaces for participation, positioning Deaf members as equal partners in the life of the church. The findings indicate that the church’s practices align with the principles of disability theology, which emphasize acceptance, equality, and the inclusive love of God for all people. Thus, GKI Pondok Indah emerges as an inclusive community that fosters shared spiritual growth grounded in justice and equality.
