Abstract: The focus of this study is Vocabulary Learning strategies used by students in Critical Reading class, English Department, Satya Wacana Christian University. This study is to answer the research question “What vocabulary learning strategy that is most frequently used by students in Critical Reading class?” This study used questionnaire as the research method and the result of this study is Activation strategy is the most frequently used strategy by English Department students in Critical Reading class, Satya Wacana Christian University, with the score 3, 3. Activation strategy itself requires the students to use the newly-learned vocabulary in speech and writing. While, the lowest score from the all strategies is Taking Notes strategy, with score 2.86.
