Abstract: This study attempts to find out what conflict that the Black people experience such as the oppression as the result of racism; the factors of the racism that happen in the movie “Mississippi Burning”. This study is conducted in order to answer two research questions, they are “What are causes of racism in ‘Mississippi Burning'?”, and “How do the racism affect the life of black people in ‘Mississippi Burning'?” The subject of the study film entitled “Mississippi Burning” directed by Alan Parker. The data for the study are collected from books and internet. The analysis of the data shows that the Black people experienced the oppression and they suffered inhumane actions that their right to live was seized by the White people in the movie. Based on the racism found in the movie, White people are proven to do unfair treatments toward the Black people.
