Menemukan Tuhan di Tapal Batas : Suatu Upaya Berteologi di Konteks Masyarakat Urban

Abstract

This paper aims to give an alternative of understanding on how to do theology within the context of an urban society of Indonesia. This society characterized by multiculturalism in one hand and individualism on the other hand, which will influence the interaction of the people in daily basis. People therefore need to meet and experience God as they encounter one to another at their boundaries. Relationship, then, could be something more than a routine activity; more than just on the surface. It will be a meaningful one that would affect people's identity. Boundary then can be defined as a place where people negotiate their life. The possibility to change as well as to respect is widely open. God is beyond "the constructed boundaries and identities" created by the people, socially and culturally. God encourage and enable the society to cross these boundaries that many times trapped them on their comfort zone while at the same time make them forget that there are neighbors surround them that need their loving kindness. In so doing, heterogenity of community and the uniqueness of an individual will be cherished. Then, God is here!
