Abstract: This study is aimed at analyzing how Jenny; the protagonist of Only A Girl (OAG) who is a Chinese Indonesian girl raised in Dutch culture, faced some identityrelated problems and adapted to the situation in the newly-independent Indonesia. This study was inspired by many inter-ethnic and interreligious conflicts in Indonesia and the easy intercultural encounters of globalization that brings multiculturalism, as cited in Cai, is introduced as the value of tolerance, used as a tool of analysis. The discussion revealed that Jenny's identity-related problems can be solved. Moreover, the problems indirectly shaped Jenny to be a multiculturalist. Therefore, the findings are expected to encourage readers to be multiculturalists.
