Abstract: | This thesis focuses on the students‟ perceptions of the implementation of cooperative learning trough group work in English for Specific Purpose course (ESP) of English Teacher Education Program, Faculty of Language and Literature in private University in Salatiga. The data were collected by using Semi-structured interview to get richer data by following up participants‟ responses. There were 20 participants, all of them students who had taken the ESP course at the faculty program. The twenty participants were selected by convenience sampling. The data were analyzed and described qualitatively. In this study, the writer found that some students believed group work was beneficial and helpful to them, i.e. group work helped them to break down complex task into parts. However, some students dissatisfied toward shared-marks and unequal distribution of effort in group work. The finding also explored students‟ criteria of group work in order to improve cooperation among the group members. |
