dc.description.abstractthe existence of modern markets such as supermarkets, mini market, department stores, hypermarkets be a dilemma for local governments, because it can inhibit the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), on the other hand would be an indicator of the progress of a region. This study aims to analyze the impact of modern market presence to the performance of MSMEs. Location of the research is Subang district in 2010. The results of the study show that the sales value of MSMEs in the trade sector declined significantly with the presence of a modern market. The inherent, modern market would compete with the MSMEs in the trading sector, because it has the same activity. In contrast, MSMEs in the agricultural sector and manufacturing sector will complement the modern market, because it has a different activity.en_US
dc.description.abstractKeberadaan pasar modern seperti supermarket, mini market, department storedan hypermarket menjadi dilema bagi pemerintah daerah, karena dapat menghambat perkembangan Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM), tetapi di sisi lain akan menjadi indikator dari kemajuan daerah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak kehadiran pasar modern terhadap kinerja UMKM. Lokasi penelitian yang dipilih adalah Kabupaten Subang pada tahun 2010. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai penjualan UMKM di sektor perdagangan menurun secara signifikan dengan kehadiran pasar modern. Secara inherent pasar modern akan bersaing dengan UMKM di sektor perdagangan, karena memiliki kegiatan yang sama. Sebaliknya, UMKM di sektor pertanian dan sektor manufaktur dapat saling melengkapi dengan pasar modern, karena memiliki aktivitas yang berbedaid
