Abstract: Penelitian tentang aktivitas antibakteri dan skrining fitokimia fraksi etil asetat ekstrak ampas teh hijau telah dilakukan pada bulan Februari hingga Agustus 2011 di Laboratorium Kimia, Fakultas Sains dan Matematika, Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana, Salatiga.
A study on antibacterial activity and phytochemical screening of ethyl acetate fraction from green tea waste extract has been conducted since February until August 2011 at the Laboratory of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity and group of chemical compounds content of ethyl acetate fraction from green tea waste extract. Antibacterial activity of ethyl acetate fraction from green tea waste extract was tested against B. subtilis, E. coli and S. aureus. Data were analyzed using Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The Honestly Significant Differences (HSD) test at 5 % level of significance used to compared treatment average. Test group of chemical compounds content of ethyl acetate fraction from green tea waste extract performed using the Ciulei's method. Ethyl acetate fraction from green tea waste extract showed a strong antibacterial effect against bacteria B. subtilis and S. aureus at a dose of 750 μg, whereas against the bacteria E. coli at a dose of 1250 μg. Group of chemical compounds contained in the fraction of ethyl acetate from green tea waste extract include alkaloids, coumarin, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, sterols and triterpene.
