Abstract: | Knowledge management (KM) is an emerging concept in the field of management and widely adopted in organizations for enhancing organizational performance. This study discusses the readiness of higher education institution in implementing knowledge management. The study further focuses on knowledge management enablers which consist of organizational culture, organizational structure, people, and information technology. The sample are academic and non academic staff from the Faculty of Economics of one of universities in Central Java, Indonesia. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistical technique. The findings showed that the knowledge management enablers as a whole has reached its optimum condition, which indicates that the organization is ready to implement knowledge management. The study recommends that initiatives must soon be taken by the organization to adopt KM practices to gain more competitive advantage |
