Abstract: Sugarcane is one of the strategic food commodities and important in Indonesia because this plant is a major source of sugar producers. Domestic sugar production in 2013 reached 2.4 million tons. The needs are high enough that can not be met by domestic production, causing shortages that has to be met by imports. The Ministry of Agriculture has a program for self-sufficiency which expected to be achieved in 2014 whose production is expected to reach 5.7 million tons. One of the problems facing the development in dry areas is the availability of superior varieties that are tolerant or resistant to these conditions. The aim of this study was to perform a cane selection from crosses result in 2013, at the high productivity and drought resistant. Tests carried out in KP. Ngemplak starting in October 2014 till December 2015, the materials used was 45 clones of sugar cane (the first stage of selection) the crosses results (inter and intraspecific), carried out in the field without a layout. Each clone of sugarcane planted in plots consisting of 3 segments lenght 5 meters with PKP distance (from center to center of segment) was 100 cm length, with a distance of 50 cm between plants. The form of the seed is a ‘but chip’ was planted after 1.5 months old. Selection of the preferred clones based of stems character include the size and brix levels are 9, 10, and 11 months old. Results of the observation that the result is higher than the sixth parents on the character: (1) plant height are 4 clone(a)MLG1303179= 328 kg(b) MLG1314/81= 329(c) MLG 1311/= 3331 cm dan (d) MLG 1308/76: (2) stem’s length production are 2 clone a) MLG1303179= 303 kg dan (b) MLG 1308/76 =325 cm (3) there are no stem’s diameter that higher than the parents: (4) intact stem’s weight are 4 clone: (a) MLG 1308/75= 1698 grams, (b) MLG 1308/76 = 1700 grams, (c) MLG1314/81 = 1797 gramsand (d) MLG 1311/37 = 2076 grams : (5) stem’s weight (meters) are 2 clone (a) MLG 1308/75 = 691 gramsand (b) MLG 1311/37 = 950 grams: (6) brix value of 9 months old are 8 clone: (a) MLG 1303179/79 = 21.86, (b) MLG 1308/49 = 21.93, (c) MLG 1308/58 =22.13, (d) MLG 1308/57 = 22.26, (e) MLG 1308/45 = 22.26, (f) MLG 1308/75 = 22.33 (g) MLG1301/268 = 22.66, (h) MLG1308/72 = 24.13 dan (i) MLG 1308/74 = 26.06: (7) brix value of 10 months old are 9 clone: (a) MLG 1308/72 = 23.72, (b) MLG 1314/63 = 23.72, (c) MLG 1308/37 =23.93, (d) MLG 1308/49 = 24.06, (e) MLG 1303/183= 24.2, (f) MLG 1308/27 = 24.2 (g) MLG1308/47 = 24.53, (h) MLG1303/171 = 24.8, (i) MLG 1308/45 = 25.46 dan (g) MLG1308/74 = 25.6 : (8) and for brix value of 11 months old that higher from the parents is just 1 clone that is MLG 1308/74 = 25.6
