Abstract: The aims of this research were to analyze the effect of social economic characteristics and communication behavior of the farmer on the probability of adopter category difference and on the preference of source of information, to analyze the effect of farmer’s perception of innovation characteristics on the probability of the difference of adopter innovation of organic farming. At the end of the formation of the model will be a communication network among farmers to increase openness "click" is there to enhance the diffusion of technological innovation organic vegetable farm on less land and environmentally friendly. The research was conducted from January to March 2016 in the village Cengklok, Semarang district by using research based method of descriptive analysis. The respondents of the research were 30 farmers selected by using purposive convinience sampling. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, mann-whitney analysis and binomial logistic regression analysis. The results of the research showed that there were differences in socio-economic characteristics and behavioral communication organic farmers in the fast and slow adopter categories, namely the age variable (p≤0,01), the level of formal education (p≤0,01), the level of cosmopolitan (p≤0 , 01), and a variable farmed failure (p≤0,05). The test results influence adopter category to preferences resources adopter categories shows that a very significant influence (p≤0,01) to the information source preferences. The conclusion of this research is a fast adopter categories have socio-economic characteristics such as younger age, higher levels of formal education, experience "bitter" failure of farming, as well as having the level of activity in the search for information is also high. Organic farmers are categorized as fast adopters have a high preference towards non personal resources, as well as having a high perception of the innovation characteristics and relative advantages and observability have a low perception of the characteristics of innovation complexity
